concrete base

    if a contractor tells you they will install the concrete first and once cured they will drill holes into the surface to make it permeable then please walk away as this will effect the integral strength of that base system and does not comply with the environment agency or S.U.D.S

    Agreed! nice to see the evolution of permeable concrete but quite difficult to get hold of in some places.

    1. Drilling holes in concrete doesn’t make it a permeable just provides channels that won’t drain the water efficiently.
    2. Surely holes compromise the strength of the concrete.

    Annoying people cutting corners or not giving the customer the correct information

    Problem is that some of these so called contractors aren’t educated themselves.
    As Wayne said these are requirements have been implemented by environment agency

    Nothing wrong with installing onto concrete but I agree people should be better educated on the full system base and all.
    And Wayne is right for driveways if you’re replacing anything with NON permeable concrete that’s not permeable
